Another "What I Wore" for a NYC long weekend getaway! This trip was such a blast and was SO needed a few months into a deployment for my little fam (our first with kids).

Below is our itinerary, it was a fabulous schedule & I loved every minute of it!

Day 1 was travel and walking the High Line, so we all opted for comfy looks that would travel well but be appropriate for popping into shops and restaurants.

I am a big leggings-while-flying girly; anyone who wears jeans on a plane is truly psychotic.

I used to swear by the Lululemon Align legging, because I was able to wear the same size all the way through both of my pregnancies. Now that I have post-baby mom belly I need a little more support *sobs internally*. I have switched to wearing Zella cropped leggings and they are amazing and Nordstrom has them on sale all of the time!

Still love me some Lulu though 🖤

My evening look for Day 1 was all black - obviously, because it's New York! But it probably would have been anyways, regardless of where we were. You cannot go wrong with an all-black-ensemble!

I was not obsessed with these pants, I felt like they stretched out as soon as I put them on. Disappointing for the cost of Free People jeans!

On the flip side, I was super pleased with this ASTR top. It has rubber lining on the shoulders that keeps the sleeves from falling down without being painful.

Accessories complete a look, and this is where I like to spend my money on designer items. This Valentino envelope clutch was a Christmas gift from my husband (that I picked out and purchased and wrapped for myself 👼). It is so useful & I absolutely love it. The shoes are Vince Camuto and comfortable AF. This was one of the few times I got to wear them before I ruined them by falling off a scooter in Key West...more on that story...um, never.

Day 2 was probably my favorite day of the trip. It included 3 of my favorite things: shopping, champagne, and opulence. We went to tea and brunch at The Plaza and it was truly a wonderful experience. Buildings that feature such beautiful architecture are few and far between these days and it was absolutely stunning. The tea was fancy & fun and we followed it up with shopping down 5th Avenue. Is there anything better than drooling over gorgeous items that you can't afford? Mmm...well, maybe being able to actually afford them.

THIS DRESS was one of my favorite things I wore. I got compliments in every single store we went into. When the lady who worked in YSL asked me who it was by, I awkwardly said "um Vici?" but that just goes to show that it looked much more expensive than it was! (No shade to Vici, I love their stuff, but they're no Yves).

I paired it with these heels for tea and immediately switched to my GG's for walking around. I felt fabulous in both!

In NYC - when in doubt, sneaker it out. Everyone is opting for comfort these days and it makes my old-lady heart happy.

For the second night I branched out and wore all black

We went to Bemelmans Bar for martinis and jazz music. If you didn't know, Bemelmans is in the Carlyle Hotel which is where the author of Madeline stayed while he wrote and illustrated the book. There are original illustrations all over the walls of the bar, which is named after him. It is a very cool spot!

Afterwards, we somehow ended up in a Broadway karaoke bar? Katlyn has never gone to a Broadway show and now I think she never will (lol). I practically lost my voice from singing too loud and sent way too many drunk videos to my family group text. We had the best night and stumbled to 3 different food carts on the way home. Gotta love NYC late night.

I loved this outfit, it was comfortable and airy due to the open back. I felt like it fit in at both classy Bemelmans and questionable karaoke bar.

Day 3 - Cultured Girlies Day!

I love a good museum. We went to The Met and strolled through their featured Egyptian Exhibit which was super interesting. Afterwards, we had a delicious al fresco brunch at American Bar and then went to Chinatown in search of designer dupes. I got a dupe of this Gucci hat & I am obsessed. Worth every bit of chub rub I got while walking miles in the city heat. We laid low and went to Palma for a pasta dinner that evening and it was *chef's kiss* Literally, I want to kiss him.

Outfit & Links:

I felt cool in this outfit, but I was very hot! This skirt is not very breathable, so I would recommend wearing it in the winter with a sweater and boots rather than in the summer heat. It is; however, very flattering and I have had it for 3 years! Nordstrom has a version of this skirt included in their Anniversary Sale every year for a reason.

I have had these Gucci sneakers for a couple years now as well. They are not quite as comfy as my Golden Goose, but they are decent for walking around the city! I like how they are not overly ostentatious.

This Valentino belt bag was perfect; it is the first belt bag/fanny pack I purchased and I have been obsessed with them since! Whether you are traveling or just doing mom life, having everything strapped to your body makes life so much easier. I also felt the safest with my items while walking the city with this bag.

These sunglasses and silver tube hoops completed the look!

This trip was such a fun one; our itinerary was a perfect blend of structure and free time, and our meal choices were outstanding. But mostly because I have the best girlfriends to travel with! I am so lucky to be able to share amazing experiences with such amazing people 🖤 Until next time, NYC!
